Lombok Garden Hotel is, honestly, a so-so hotel. It’s not special in many ways. However, I’ve stayed there twice and always felt comfortable. In fact, I don’t mind staying there once again if I had a chance to visit Mataram again. For those of you that didn’t know, Mataram is the capital city of West Nusa Tenggara, located in the west of Lombok Island. I stayed there for a transit between Gili Gede and my flight back to Jakarta.
So here’s what I think about Lombok Garden Hotel in more details:
The Superior room, in which I stayed, was pretty basic, but it’s got all that I needed for a transit stay. In fact, it’s got more than I needed. I was there by myself in a twin-bed room.
The room also got a flat TV with some international channels, a mini fridge, a desk, a wardrobe, private bathroom with hot shower and western toilet, and a terrace where you can relax on the set of chairs and coffee table.
The furniture is pretty basic in style, in fact, it has almost no style, but they keep everything clean. That is the most important to make a comfortable stay for me.
My room faced the swimming pool. It was a Sunday afternoon, families with little kids were swimming and playing noisily in the pool. Lombok Garden Hotel doesn’t limit the access to their guests only, so there were local families enjoying the pool as well. Aside to that, I think there were also guests from the hotel next to them, Lombok Raya, which had their swimming pool renovated at that time. It was so crowded, I decided to just sit at the terrace and write down my travel notes instead of taking a plunge.
However, I’ve stayed in Lombok Garden Hotel in quieter days before, on the trip with my dad. It was really nice to stay in the rooms with direct access to the garden, especially when the wind was blowing softly. The terrace would make a great spot for siesta.
On both of my stays at Lombok Garden Hotel, I found the staff to be helpful and very polite. They helped me arrange a taxi to catch my morning flight and had my breakfast wrapped to be taken away because I had to leave before breakfast time.
The receptionist was kind enough to give me a discount from IDR 510,000 (single occupancy, Superior room) to IDR 390,000. From the tariff sheet, I didn’t see weekday/weekend rates, only single/double occupancy. But this was in March, 2013. For more updated rates, you better check to their official contacts.

Beberapa kali nginep disini, paling demen kalo dapat kamar yg di gedung baru. Kalo di bangunan lama tuch AC nya kurang dingin hehehe
The place looks like it has an amazing and relaxing ambiance to stay in. And the room were definitely clean and relaxing as well. Will definitely drop by to that place, soon 🙂
It’s a great option when visiting Mataram city.
