Ngalau Seribu (Thousand Caves) in West Sumatera. In this highland, caves are like bee hive, hundreds or maybe thousands of caves crawl beneath its hills. The one you see in the picture is the main lobby of the cave system, where a natural spring drips and forms a shallow pool.  This shallow pool allows cavers to make a nice and comfy camp site as a basecamp for further exploration.

This is a contribution from our fellow Diyan Surya, whom you may bump into as @diyantouchable in the cyber world. The picture was taken on his ‘mudik’ trip to Payakumbuh, West Sumatra, on August 2012.
