Stumble Into Indonesia's Unseen Places

Meet Onky, he’s a newbie ranger when I visited Rinca Island, one of the few islands that komodo dragons inhabit, last week. He maybe new, but he’s a local Rincanese, which means he should be familiar with everything about komodo. Plus, he’s got that powerful stick in his hand. It’s cut from a strong local tree with split ends, something that komodos are, somehow, afraid of. Wouldn’t want the split ends, which resemble their own tongues, to poke their eyes out, eh?
