I never really saw Jakarta as a beautiful city, well not that much at least. It’s far from being compared to Kuala Lumpur and Singapore as neighboring capital cities. But maybe I’ve been looking at it only from one perspective; from the core of the city. I never noticed it from another point of view. I haven’t been to any Christian or Catholic graveyard. Yesterday, out of the blue, my friend had this idea to detour our Sunday morning stroll to this Dutch graveyard that was turned into Museum Taman Prasasti (Epigraph Park Museum) in Central Jakarta. This is a dish our friend Tari had at Galeri restaurant, Jakarta. It consisted of rice, cucumber little slices, salad, and red chilli.. with duck. It was spicy and hot as hell, but boy, do Indonesians love their food to burn in the mouth!

I’m a practicing moslem (not a hardcore one, though) and have lived in Jakarta for 9 years (eeekk!! I’m surprised myself!), but had never really been drawn to the (once) biggest mosque in South East Asia.

Blame that movie I just saw yesterday at the cinema called “Serdadu Kumbang”, an Indonesian movie that was shot in Sumbawa Island, West Nusa Tenggara. I’ve never been there, but there were shots taken on the jetty with clear water that I felt like cannonballing.
