Oh boy, do I miss being in the sea or what. And here our pal Norman contributes a picture from his previous dive. Seeing funny creatures is one of the perks of snorkeling or diving in the sea. And Norman, being an avid diver, has seen a lot more than I have. This creature in Read More

Cindy, my travel mate of Flores, complained on how boring the human skin is. In a way she’s right. Compared to the Scorpion fish, bat fish, nudibranches, human skin is dull. We’re no peacock, tigers, nor chameleon that can share colors on our body. But that probably is a good thing, hehehehe…

I like to play a lot with my imagination. And most of the time, it’s silly ones. I stumble on to this picture from my dive at Tulamben, Bali. I had a little smile imagining a thinking bubble around the fishes as the diver said ‘Ooo, fish for lunch would be great’ or I would imagine that the fish were teasing by swimming on top of him while he’s trying to find them. And by one photo made by my bud, Irma Safitri, I can make my self smile a bit more for the day.

Isn’t it adorable? It’s Risbecia Tryoni (what do you reckon its nikcname? Becky? Tron?), a trailing sea slug, known for its trailing behavior, that our friend Endi Hamid encountered when diving at Filonga Island, North Maluku (Moluccas).

During my stay in Makassar, I met this fun enthusiast diving gang smudge in the mini dive center on the Pulau Bangkoa port. The center itself only measured about 2 m x 3 m and filled with diving equipment, and could hardly contain the spirit of its members. Only Nando (the guy who referred me to them) and I were the ones that knew how crazy they were, until a Dutch DM to-be took them out diving one day. This is one of their underwater signature poses, they love to take of their mask and regulators and take picture. Just one of the many crazy things they do.
